Varsity Sports Update

An AP honorable mention All-American in 1983-84, Keith Jones averaged 16.3 points while shooting 51.9 percent from his guard position during his four-year-career (1981-84). Twice, he was selected first team All-Pac-10. As a senior, Jones led the conference in scoring at 20.0 and

averaged 19.8 points as a junior. Entering the 2013-14 season, he ranks 11th in career scoring with 1,516 points, eighth in scoring average (16.3), seventh in field goals (559), eighth in free throws (398) and seventh in steals (128). Jones was a sixth-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1984.

- Men's soccer advances to the third round of the NCAA Championship Tournament taking on Washington December 1 in Seattle.

- Women's volleyball (3) defeated Washington and Washington State, guaranteeing a spot in post-season play. First and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament will take place at Stanford on December 5 and 6.

- Sailing finishes its fall season by capturing a sixth place finish in the ICSA Match Race Nationals. The team returns to the water on January 4 and 5 at the Rose Bowl Regatta.

- Cross country concludes its season with two top-five individual finishes in the men's and women's races at the NCAA cross country championships.

- Women's soccer ended its season in the third round of the NCAA tournament, finishing 17th in the nation.

- Men's water polo clinches the number 2 seed at the MPSF Tournament, after defeating Cal in the annual Big Splash. Tournament play begins November 29 through December 1.

- Field hockey wraps up its season 10th in the nation with two All-Region First Team selections and two Second Team honors.
