killing dils. up and close with Parineeti Chopra by Anita M From the vivacious characters she portrays in her reel life to the strong opinionated woman she is in the real world, Parineeti Chopra doesn’t cease to impress us even to the minimalistic. In our exclusive ride, the energetic actress speaks about her rivalry in the industry, criticism she faces and a lot more. The current generation of actors, are very cordial to each other, as opposed to the supposed rivalry and cat fights between actors, back in the 90’s, what is your take on that? That is because we are such amazing people (laughs). Let me tell you why. Most of us know each other before we became actors. For example, Ishaqzaade has released, and Sidharth, Alia and Varun, were just shooting for Radha, for SOTY; Shraddha had done one film, I had not even done Rickey Bahl when I met her. We all became actors in front of each other. Genuinely we know there is work for everyone. I don’t need to cut you to get your work that doesn’t happen anymore. Since we all are such different personalities so we get our share of films, thus we don’t have a reason to fight. We spend so much time with other, like we party together, watch movies, or go to each other’s house, so don’t have time to fight. You have been looking awesome at all you appearances off lately, how does it feel having faced a lot of criticism for the same? I feel relieved, because I have genuinely worked at it. This was one thing that was not my strength. In the beginning I just didn’t know what looked good on me. Someone would say, ‘this is Louis Vuitton, you should wear it’, and I would wear it and look pathetic in it. You need to know what looks good on you, along with a good stylist. I need people to stop saying that I dress badly. Incidents of you blasting reporters have been viral, what do you have to say on that? Honestly I didn’t blast them; I spoke with a lot of respect. In those incidences it was just a guy being dumb. If someone says something that I feel is derogatory to women, I will speak up against it, I am glad that I am an actor, and if I say anything it will go online and make a difference. So I don’t go around blasting reporters as a hobby.
