Let ’ s face it , people love to shop , wherever they are , including in The Metaverse . Arguably people love showing off what they ’ ve bought more than the item itself , so virtual clothing is hot property . Louis Vuitton and Gucci have produced in-game cosmetic items that have raked in millions for the fashion giants , all in the name of players having the most exclusive items in the online world .
So what ’ s next ?
The Metaverse will continue to grow , both in terms of the number of platforms and amount of time spent there . In the process , people will inevitably want to do new things . Their special interests will extend into The Metaverse along with their social life . This will unleash a flood of creativity , resulting in content , activities and experiences that we can only guess at right now .
The world of conferences and events needs to get onboard with this multi-layered , multifaceted , multi-dimensional way of thinking - fast . By doing so , we can offer virtual , hybrid and physical experiences ahead of the adoption curve , and crucially , before mass disruption to our industry .
