The discovery of MERCURY has changed Slovenia forever!!

The mercury mine in the ancient Mediaeval town of Idrija has put Slovenia forever on the map of Europe. Even though discovered in 1490, now 70 years later, it is still going strong. The mercury mine is the second largest mercury mine in the world (the first being the mine in Almaden Spain), whose production is a powerful stimulus to the development of science, medicine and technology not only in Slovenia, but also in the greater European continent. Not only that, but it has brought about important trade between Europe and North America. They say this chemical substance will come in handy for a new development in science and medicine that will serve every man, rich or poor. It's called the 'thermometer'.

That's something to look forward to.

Let's hope there's enough mercury down there to last another 500 years.
