CLIL stands for Content Language Integrated Learning and refers to a teaching method that involves teaching students about a subject in a foreign language. The general parameters Clil is based on are Cognition, Culture, Content, Communication, specifically the 4 c’s Framework developed by Coyle in 1999. The 4 c’s framework for CLIL starts with content and focuses on the interrelationship between content, communication, cognition and culture in order to integrate learning and language learning.
