Nest-Sotra is a football club which was formed after a meeting in Oygarden. Some of the players were not happy with their new coach and then decided to make their own club. Before this meeting, the club was named Oygard. They got a new staff with Kristian Lunde as assistant foreman, John Sekkingstad as director, Norunn Sekkingstad as a secretary and Solfrid Tverranger as cashier. Nest-Sotra (or back then, IL Nest) was announced in “NFF” (Norway’s Football Alliance), but weren’t allowed to play

until in a league until 1972.

Their first match ended with a 3-2 loss against Kjokkelvik on Laksevaag.

They played on “Nygaardmyren” in the first year, and then they got their own place to play. They played on gravel. But in summer 1971, they applied to Fjell Municipality, in order to expand their field and boost their economy. They got 2820

euros to expand their field.
