Skin VS UV

90% of skin cancers are associated

with exposure of UV light.

Sunscreen helps greatly to reduce

excess exposure to the harmful UV

rays.

Sunscreen helps to shield the human

body from the sun’s rays by absorbing the light or reflecting it

away dependant on their ingredients.

Sunscreen and SPF

The efficiency of the sunscreen is SPF factor

(sun protection factor).

The most effective sunscreen should block or

absorb both UVA and UVB radiation.

SPF values can be calculated determinating

the amount of time a person can stay in the

sun without getting sun burn.

15 SPF/ how long you can stand outside.

No sunscreen - 10 mins before getting burned

With sunscreen- 150 mins before getting

burned.
