This experiment was to understand how bacteria reacts to UV light exposure.

Also to discover how to maintain or kill bacteria.

The results of this experiment show us that UV light kills bacteria and different exposure times indicate a greater efficacy at killing bacteria.

Conclusion

Although there are too many bacterial cells to count, the amount of cells are reducing in the E.coli experiment. From these results we can tell something in this experiment may have gone wrong as the results should have been different. This could be due to the lid of Petri dish being left on.

Another possibility could be the cell wall protects cells from UV light and that is how they survive.

Visible light does not kill bacteria. Would radiation of smaller wave legnths be more effective at killing bacteria.
