New Appointments

NYU Langone Dental Medicine Postdoctoral Residency Programs welcomed the following individuals to our team in 2020
Dr . David Brajdic Associate Director , Advanced Education in General Dentistry
Dr . David Brajdic received his Bachelor ’ s degree in Biology from Wittenberg University and his DMD degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine . He earned a Certificate in Comprehensive Dentistry from the National Naval Dental School in Bethesda , Maryland and a concurrent Master ’ s Degree in Health Sciences from George Washington University . After service in the United States Navy and 15 years in private practice , he joined Carilion Medical Center in 2012 as Manager and Director to help start a General Practice Residency Program in Roanoke , Virginia . Dr . Brajdic came on board as the Associate Director for AEGD on October 1 , 2020 and will oversee the training sites in Maryland , Massachusetts , and North Carolina .
Dr . Kayla Carver Interim Associate Director , Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry
Dr . Kayla Carver graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio . She then completed a GPR program at University Hospital through UTHSCSA , where she treated patients with complex medical needs . Dr . Carver graduated from the NYU Langone Dental Medicine Pediatric Dentistry Program in 2012 at the Alaska Native Medical Center in Anchorage , AK . She has been a full time faculty member at the site since the fall of 2014 and recently took on the position of Interim Director of Pediatric Dentistry for Southcentral Foundation .
After residency , Dr . Carver worked in private practice in Fairbanks , Alaska and Bremerton , WA . She came back to Alaska because it was home to her . She loves treating the population and meeting a need for the children in the region . In her new position , she is able to work closely with medical specialties and has found a love of teaching , lecturing and serving as Dental Director for the Alaska Cleft Palate team . She also serves as a Commissioned Officer in the United States Public Health Service , which allows her to work alongside other Commissioned Officers in her daily work in addition to fulfilling special deployment assignments for COVID and natural disaster responses .
Dr . John Neves Associate Director , Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry
Dr . John Neves became the Associate Program Director for the NYU Langone Dental Medicine Pediatric Dentistry Program affiliated with San Ysidro Health and Rady Children ' s Hospital on August 1 , 2020 .
Dr . Neves received his Bachelor ’ s Degree from the University of California , San Diego with a major in Biology and a double minor in German and Music . He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Nova Southeastern University and completed his residency program in pediatric dentistry at a joint program between Nova Southeastern University and Miami Children ’ s Hospital . Dr . Neves has been a clinical assistant professor of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of the Pacific , Arthur A . Dugoni School of Dentistry since 2007 . He was the founding associate director of the NYU Langone Dental Medicine Pediatric Dentistry CA site serving from 2012 – 2015 . He has worked both in the private practice setting and for a community health center over the span of his 15 year career as a pediatric dentist .
