Congratulations to Mr . Eric Malone , Manager of Extramural Development , NYU Langone Dental Medicine , for his appointment to the American Dental Education Association ( ADEA ) PASS Advisory Group . Mr . Malone has been appointed by the ADEA Board of Directors to a three-year term which began at the 2020 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition in March .

ALUMNUS RECEIVED HONORABLE MENTION FOR ACHIEVEMENT IN DENTAL PUBLIC HEALTH
Congratulations to Dr . Melvin Thomas , NYU Langone Dental Medicine Postdoctoral Residency Programs Dental Public Health alumnus , ' 19 . Dr . Thomas has been awarded honorable mention for the Leverett Graduate Student Merit Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dental Public Health for his abstract Children ' s Dental Medicaid Expenditures in a Fluoridated & Nonfluoridated Community in Rhode Island . As the Honorable Mention award winner , Dr . Thomas received a complimentary registration for the 2020 National Oral Health Conference ( NOHC ), a plaque / certificate , membership in the American Association of Public Health Dentistry and an electronic subscription to the Journal of Public Health Dentistry . He was recognized and presented his award at the 2020 NOHC .

Amy Kim , NYU Langone Dental Medicine Postdoctoral Residency Programs , AEGD Associate Director , has been appointed by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry to its Council on Scientific Affairs ( CSA ) for the 2020-2021 year . The mission of the CSA is to ensure that the organization ’ s policies , guidelines , and programs are evidenced based and supported by the most recent and up to date science .

DR . LINDA YOUNG , SELECTED AS SANTOS CORTEZ ADVOCACY INTERN
Congratulations to Dr . Linda Young , Pediatric Dentistry resident in San Diego , CA for being selected as one of the “ Santos Cortez Graduate Student Legislative Advocacy Interns ,” sponsored by the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry ( CSPD ). Interns are selected by a reviewing committee and final selection is by the Board of the CSPD . Selections are made from candidates representing all five pediatric dental residency programs in California .

Second District Dental Society President- Elect Dr . Babak Bina appointed Dr . Nathalie Mohadjeri to the Organization Committee of the Greater New York Dental Meeting for a four-year term which commenced on January 1 , 2020 . Dr . Mohadjeri is a 1996 graduate of the Temple University School of Dentistry and a general dentist . She is currently the Senior Director of Quality Management and Patient Care at NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn .
