VILLAGE OF ESTERO : TRAIL INTEGRATION WITH OPEN SPACE PLANNING
BERT provides an enhanced opportunity for our citizens to enjoy safe transit enroute to their workplace and to the many attractions along the trail , including Estero on the River , The Entertainment Hub , Sports Hub and Coconut Point with rest stops along the way . The Village of Estero fully supports BERT .

Estero Village ’ s Open Space Master Plan is as impressive as it is ambitious . The Master Plan identifies four distinct hubs as a focus for “ placemaking ”:
• The Eco-Historical hub that includes Koreshan State Park and the future Estero River Park ;
• The future Village Center hub that will include a 20-acre interconnected sports and entertainment campuses
• The Mixed-Use Commercial hub centered around the existing Coconut Point Mall
• The existing Highway Commercial hub that encompasses the area of Estero at Corkscrew Road and I-75
Three of the four hubs – Eco-Historical , Village Center , Mixed-Use Commercial – will be located along the completed BERT . The Master Plan calls for connecting the hubs “ to each other through multimodal corridors as destinations for the benefit of residents and visitors .” As with the City of Bonita Springs , Estero will be well positioned to benefit from the significant visitation that the trail will bring . The trail will be an integral economic driver to these hubs and will be essential to successfully implementing the Master Plan . Estero will ultimately benefit from the combination of interconnected hubs with BERT tying them together and serving as a go-to destination itself .
