THE BLUE FEATHER

“To hear is to obey!” Jonathan retorted by radio, “Mission
completed.”
“You’ve been watching too much HDTV,” Tital radioed.
“Yes, Master,” Jonathan came back over the radio saying.
“Okay, boys, that’s the last of them heading into the cave,
now let’s go check on Moka,” Bardala said, as all the crew rode
up.
In less than a minute, Moka came riding the leader of the
herd back out of the cave. The horse acted like he had been
saddle broke for years. Moka had a homemade bridle on his
horse, and the horse behaved well.
“Viviana, ask Moka how he did that, getting that wild stallion
to do what he wanted him to do?” Tital asked.
Viviana translated for Moka, “He said when he jumped on the
horse’s back he used his new ring to touch the horse. The horse
then obeyed whatever Moka told him to do. All Moka had to do
was think it and his horse obeyed.”
“He certainly saved the day. His ring came in very worthwhile
for all of us. We are going to have to figure out why the horses
shyed away from the entrance. Did the horses smell us humans,
or Brilloso? They should have been able to smell our other
horses. There’s something here that nearly killed the project.
Next time we need to be sure there are no problems around the
entrance,” Tital told the crew.
“Tital, let’s call Mahucutah to heal and rejuvenate these two
horses, and we will need Zotz to check on the arrival of the first
installment of horses from Earth,” Bardala said.
Spirits Mahucutah and Zotz arrived at the same time through
the Otherworldly mist.
