THE BLUE FEATHER 295 “Wow, that was close!” Lena yelled. “Now, let’s kill some beasts. Hand me another arrow, Lena,” Jonathan told her as he released another deadly arrow. Kuó began handing arrows and bolts to both Bardala and Viviana. Bardala kept her bow firing arrows, but had to stop long enough to keep the spears from striking the group. The protective bubble worked both ways, while they would protect you from incoming attacks, they also kept anyone from shooting arrows outward. It took several more shots this time to bring the beasts down out of the sky. The beasts had their own protective metal armor that the warriors had strapped onto their vulnerable chests and around their eyes. However, the massive blocks of limestone that made up the pyramid were getting stained with dinosaur blood, and littered with bodies. The last of the flying attackers to be killed had one lone warrior directing the beasts. “Don’t kill the raptor!” Bardala yelled to her siblings. “Why not?” Jonathan wanted to know as he lined up a good shot. “Aim for the rider and only wound him, we need their rides.” “You mean...” Lena started to ask. “We’re going to ride them, just like those men are doing!” Bardala yelled as she hit the last warrior in his chest with an arrow. She then raised her hand and stopped the raptor in midair. As the last warrior’s body started to fall to the ground, Viviana, thinking quickly, pointed her finger and slowly lowered him to rest at her feet. Both Moka, and Eegh grabbed up arrows, and held them to the man’s throat, afraid he still might attack them.
