19 THE BLUE FEATHER on all the beaches of your world. There are more souls than all those grains. You, Tital, are but one. Think of it another way, were there fewer people on this earth one hundred years ago?” Mahucutah asked. “Well, yeah,” answered Tital. “Where do you think all those souls are coming from? There is a huge increase of people on this planet, and everyone has to have a soul,” Mahucutah explained to Tital. “The souls must come from somewhere. But, where is that somewhere?” Tital wanted to know. “It is simple if you think of it as another Universe. There the souls cannot experience physical pain, because they have no bodies. However, in that place the souls still have desires. One of the deep desires is to come back to the physical world and experience another life. This can happen many thousands of times. Souls are not worried about dying, because they know it is only a physical death. Then they line up again for another ride into a physical life,” Mahucutah explained. “Line up, what do you mean by that?” inquired Tital. “It is like simple math. Souls line up, and take their turn. You might not like the world you went to last time, so you can pick a different world to be born into, this time on this world, you might be born in Mexico, but you could also be born in another country,” Mahucutah said. “I am glad I was born in Mexico. Did I choose my family before I was born?” asked Tital. “No, it is by chance. If you could choose, souls would only choose parents who had no health problems and lots of what you call money. No, your soul is assigned by chance. It’s the only fair way to do it,” Mahucutah said.
