flared out blue colored then turning to a bright pure white. A
thick spark jumped from the jewel to Tital then flowed through
to Bardala.
“What the...” is all that Jonathan could get out of his mouth
before Moka and Eegh could lay their hands back on Tital and
Bardala, then they began to chatter back and forth to each other.
“I’m sorry, Viviana. I didn’t mean to drop the staff. I didn’t
kill them did I? It vibrated. It just seemed to jump on its own.
I’m very sorry,” a worried Kuó said.
“Look,” Viviana pointed to Tital then Bardala, “they’ve
opened their eyes. They’re coming back to us. We’ve all done it,
good job. It looks like the staff shocked their hearts back to
beating on their own. You’re a hero, Kuó.”
Coming back from being hit by a powerful lightning bolt and
being jerked back from Xibalbá to the real world is not easy on
the physical body. It took Tital and Bardala hours before they
could even sit up and drink some hot tea.
As everyone rested, Moka and Eegh told a strange tale about
seeing Yum Cimil and Ah Peku in a foggy place with Bardala and
Tital.
“They might not have been there with us in Xibalbá, but they
sure described Yum Cimil and Ah Peku in their Mayan clothes,”
Tital told the crew, once he felt like talking.
“It’s one place I hope I will not have to see again for a very
long time. But,” looking over at Tital, she smiled and while
holding his hand she continued, “I was glad I was not alone in
that strange place.”
