THE BLUE FEATHER
Moka and Eegh started chattering, and Viviana announced
that they had spotted several different dinosaurs on shore
grazing lazily on the tall grass and shrubs.
“We can pull up onto that sandy beach there,” Tital said
when he located a fast-flowing, stream that emptied into the
ocean up ahead.
“Viviana can take some great pictures to show everyone
while we unload all the eggs. There should be many fish in that
large stream for the baby Gigantoraptors.”
“Look at those dinosaurs. There is a herd of Triceratops over
by those Neoceratops, the ones with the pointed horns on their
faces,” Jonathan told everyone.
“What’s the name of those dinosaurs in that watery area?”
Lena asked.
“That’s what we call a swamp, back home. Those duck-billed
dinosaurs are called Hadrosaurs. They eat only plants. They stay
out in those swamps so the meat-eaters can’t get to them,”
Jonathan informed her while they watched all the amazing beasts
in real life.
They unloaded all the remaining eggs, and while they were at
the last site, released the three newly hatched baby
Gigantoraptors from their wooden cages close by the stream. It
only took the first baby Gigantoraptor a moment to go to the
waters edge and get a drink, and the other two babies followed
his lead. He quickly saw that there was food swimming around in
the water. He scooped up a fat frog tadpole with his beak as
Viviana and the others looked on from above.
“He’s eating!” Viviana exclaimed, while the other two babies
snatched their own food from the stream. “Now, they’re all
eating!”
