It seemed that it would never end, and as the quivers of
arrows were emptied, Bardala and Tital floated down to pull
arrows from the dead bodies. They gathered only four before
they noticed that only four attackers remained. These last four
were struggling to fly towards the basket with the newly hatched
baby Raptor, which was continuing to screech loudly. They fired
the last four arrows of the battle, and all the adult
Gigantoraptors were at last put down. The now exhausted
human warriors floated back to the ground, and were stunned by
the sheer number of creatures that had been killed by them.
“Another big task for Mahucutah and his helpers. It will take
them some time to cleanup this mess,” Ronú said as he wiped his
forehead.
“It’s going to take his crew quite a while to make Raptorjerky
out of all these beasts,” said Jonathan, removing his archer’s
glove.
Brilloso came running up, with Moka riding on his back.
Moka chattered excitedly, and was pointing behind himself,
hoping to be understood. His wild gestures, however, told
Bardala and Tital all they need to know. They looked past Moka,
and saw two other monkeys carrying another who was dripping
blood on the ground.
