205 THE BLUE FEATHER One thing was for sure, Mahucutah made certain by touching each person on the forehead that everyone in camp received a restful night of sleep. Little Viviana thought Mahucutah’s touch was just like her father’s when he was tucking her into bed and giving her a goodnight kiss. She felt safe with her furry new friend, Moka, sleeping peacefully beside her. The next morning as the sun broke out above the ocean, Bardala and Tital awakened to the delicious smells of a large, well prepared breakfast. Tital poked his head out of the NorthFace tent and heard Jonathan saying, “Strawberry pancakes out here in the middle of nowhere. It’s great! Just look at these bowls of fresh fruit, Viviana. Thanks, Mahucutah.” “I am glad you appreciate a fine meal. It’s one thing we miss in the Otherworld.” “I can tell you that the food is very good. I hope someday you will be able to enjoy a meal,” Viviana smiled and said. “You are too kind, little one,” Mahucutah looked down and said. Then he told everyone as they all sat around eating, “The woven baskets are finished. Ix Chel and her helpers finished early this morning. Look to the southwest, Moka is bringing most of his tribe. There must be at least fifty of them coming to help. It looks like the egg hunting project will go well today.” “Hi, Moka!” Viviana said to her new friend. “We see that you have brought many friends to help. Mahucutah has baskets for you to use for the Gigantoraptor eggs, and in each basket you will find all kinds of new types of fruit to eat. Apples, cherries, oranges, pears, mangoes, and a flavor I’m sure you will like, bananas. Keep the little seeds, and plant them close to where you live. That way, in a few tuns you will have a good supply of different fruits.”
