183 THE BLUE FEATHER Tital and Bardala slipped along silently on the surface, and then dived down five meters to the bottom of the lagoon. Their bodies were cocooned in spectral effulgence as they watched the different fish swim around in a search for food. Bardala spotted several lobsters feeding next to some brain coral. Tapping Tital, he speared one, then another. The soon-to-be-tasty lobsters were secured in a woven sack, and the couple was swimming back towards shore when Tital spotted something large moving below to his right. With nowhere to hide, it amazed them that whatever the creature was, it did not see them. It appeared to be about nine meters tall, and had a somewhat human form, but that’s where the similarity ended. Bardala held Tital’s hand while the creature passed by, thankfully not even noticing them floating above it. Its massive, chunky body seemed to be made of stones of some sort, like different sizes of building stones, only its head appeared to be...Mayan, Tital thought in the short time he had to see it. Bardala worried about where the thing was headed, thinking about her little brother and sister back at camp. Would it come out on land near them? Were they in any danger? They could hear through the seawater what sounded like its breathing, but it would be breathing…water. “HUHH…HUH…HUHHH!” It huffed as it passed them, and when it passed from their sight they quickly swam to shore. “What a monster!” Tital said first, after they had gotten up on the beach. They both looked around, expecting the underwater Titan to appear any moment.
