“No more than one hour and a half. That should be plenty of
time for us to catch enough lobster for dinner tomorrow,” Tital
said.
“Okay, but I’m setting my watch.”
“Fine, I’ll get the equipment. You check on everyone, and tell
them to stay put. The Gigantoraptors don’t hunt after dark.”
“How do you know that?” Bardala asked, as she went over to
the tents to tell everyone where they would be for a while.
“It was in the fine print on Huracán’s computer files.” Tital
said.
Bardala unzipped the tent fly and looked in to find Jonathan,
Viviana, Kuó and Ronú playing with a red-eared monkey, feeding
it a Nature Valley energy bar.
“Where did you get your little friend?” she asked.
“He just wandered into camp. He must have been hungry,”
Kuó said.
“Sis, isn’t he adorable?” Viviana asked with a smile.
“He can even drink out of a bottle, watch this,” Jonathan said,
as he gave the monkey a Minute Maid juice drink. The monkey
took it like an expert, and drank the bottle dry. He started
chattering, and then looked at everyone to see who understood
him.
“He’s asking me if we are the people who lived in the stone
city in the jungle,” Viviana said.
“You can understand what he is saying?” asked Bardala in
disbelief.
“She’s the only one who understands him.” Jonathan said
sadly.
“Are there any more like him on the island?” Bardala asked.
