“You have got to be kidding! No wa-a-ay!” Bardala yelled,
waving her arms wildly.
“Oh come on! What can it hurt? Remember, we have the
power to protect ourselves. Ah Tabai said we could pick up big
things, didn’t he?” Tital said, trying to persuade Bardala.
“What about Jonathan, and Viviana? I want to be there when
they wake up,” Bardala explained in a pleading voice.
“We will be. I want to be there too. But come on, we did
come here to explore, didn’t we?” Tital asked.
“Well...Yes,” Bardala said hesitantly.
“And, we can go back in time to the point when we left, when
Jonathan and Viviana were still asleep. That is what Zotz
promised us, isn’t it?” Tital said, taking her hand, and gently
pulling her forward.
“This, I want you to know, is against my better judgment. You
agree, we will turn back...” Bardala was telling Tital as she
hesitantly went forward.
“Then don’t be a worrywart, we’ll be just fine. Don’t you feel
strong? Didn’t we keep the villagers safe from all that falling ash
and rock?” Tital countered.

thinking of some of the descriptions her father would use like
