arrow. To her great surprise, and Tital’s also, the arrow drove
unerringly, straight to the mark, burying its broad head deeply
into the tree with a resounding “THUUUUNNNKKK!”
“Excellent!” exclaimed Ah Tabai, as another Spirit messenger
appeared, and ran up to the group bearing a large bundle on his
back.
“I am Hahana Ku, and I bring you the weapons you need.
There are knives, axes, spears, and bows, all made by the nine
dwarvian Bolon Ti Ku clan, that are Underworld Spirits who make
the most excellent of these type of weapons,” the messenger
said. “The dwarves duplicate, or improve upon anything that
humans can invent.”
“Hahana Ku, please prepare a camp for our guests, and call
upon the other Spirits to help you. Thank you for bringing all the
exotic weapons,” Ah Tabai said. “Did Ix Chel weave the
camouflage gear for these two to wear?”
“Yes, you will be very pleased with the quality,” said a smiling
Hahana Ku, as he placed the bundle of weapons on the ground
before he started building a campsite.
“Bardala, I could have let you shoot many arrows, for many
days, before I guided your inner power to the surface with my
touch. I also gave you some of my own hunting powers,” Ah
Tabai told her. “Now it is time to impart these powers to Tital as
well.” He then stepped over to Tital, and touched his shoulder in
the same manner that he had done to Bardala’s shoulder earlier.
“Ah!” exclaimed Tital, “I know all about archery! It is like
accessing a computer full of knowledge when you touched me.”
“We have a strong link between us, as we all have a common
purpose. Under those conditions, knowledge will flow freely,”
explained Ah Tabai. “But, we must be careful not to rush things,
