On 25th June 2016 the Armed Forces
Day Parade took place in Bishop’s
Stortford. The parade was led by the
Royal British Legion Standards and
RAF Cadet Band and included Royal
British Legion Members, Veterans,
Cadet Forces, and representatives from
local organisations and services.
A short service was held outside the
British Legion on Windhill with prayers
by Rev T Weeks and Farther P Harris.

of older workers in the next decade
alongside younger workers will require
employers to:
• Review and make amendments to
their flexible working policies
• Review structures and working
patterns
• Look at graduated or phased
retirement
• Understand that caring
responsibilities relate to all sectors
of the workforce
• Redesign working environment to
suit older workers
• Consider offering apprenticeships to
older workers
• Tap into experience that can
be shared with the rest of the
workforce (both young to old and
old to young)
• Set up multi generational mentoring
schemes
• Have career conversations that
allow older workers to develop
and progress. (Don’t assume older
workers want to retire)
• Ensure recruitment is not biased
towards recruiting younger workers
