Bishop’s Stortford Market
Bishop’s Stortford is a charter market
dating back to the 1200s and has always
been a vital asset to the Town. The
market has had a varied history and has
occupied many of the streets in Bishop’s
Stortford.
Traders are the cornerstone of any
market. They create brightly coloured
displays that enhance the streets and
the calls often, particularly fruiterers
animate and liven up the town centre.
The traders of Bishop’s Stortford market
are mainly long established businesses
and are the foundation to the success of
our market. In a series of articles we will
introduce some of Bishop’s Stortford’s
wonderful traders- Watch out for future
editions when we will be speaking to
more of our traders!
Rosario Rospo has been selling flowers
at Bishop’s Stortford market for 26 years
from Bishop’s Stortford Flower Stall. His
stall creates a brightly coloured backdrop
to Market Square every Thursday and

times exotic flowers can be purchased
from Ross whom at the weekend is often
joined by his son Ross Jr.
