SUMMARY “Whether ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” [1 Cor 10:31] Centuries of loving the drink, which led to personal depravity and the break up of chosen Israel, have come to an end. Numerous prophecies couched in wine-talk language were well understood by a backslidden nation. Types of a Savior being set apart and finally separated from His Father were symbolized through abstinence vows. Jesus was clearly portrayed as the True Vine. A gradual reformation evolved amongst God‟s people who were finally urged to live the sanctified life in the last days without alcohol. The spiritual wine of Babylon is fallen along with those who partake of it. Wine use in the Bible has been a lengthy, painful lesson and has served its purpose well. Thankfully, God is forming a remnant for these last days. Children of spiritual Israel can march through the desert storms of life requiring no fermented spirits to sustain them.
