In honor of Mr . Larkin ' s career service to our Nation as a Unit- ed States Secret Service Spe- cial Agent and First Responder to the World Trade Center ; as a Navy SEAL and extraordinary leader who now leads a global effort to recognize early signs of Traumatic Brain Injury ( TBI ) in our service members to pre- vent generations of grief to families and to society in the ab- sence of these future leaders .

His efforts result from the loss of his beloved son Ryan , a Navy SEAL to suicide following repeat- ed undiagnosed percussive in- juries .

Navy SEAL Special Warfare Op- erator First Class ( SO1 ) Ryan F . Larkin , a deco- rated Navy SEAL operator and explosives breacher , was regularly exposed to high-impact blast waves throughout his 10 years of service .
