Nizana : When Oriana suggested I start adding interviews to my mix of articles and reviews , I thought it was a great idea . Giving thought to whom I would like to interview , you crossed my mind for several reasons . You are one of the more multi-faceted persons I ’ ve ever known , and we ’ ve known each other for a long time from when we both lived in Washington State . I have studied with you , sponsored you , and you ’ ve been part of my Night in the Global Village online haflas team for a good part of its run . Thanks for agreeing to do this interview and for all you have done for the dance world ! I think people will find you more fascinating than they already do ! So , what got you started in MED and who has inspired you most along the way ?
Saqra : When I was a kid my friend ’ s mother was in a dance troupe in Seattle ! I was absolutely fascinated that her arms looked boneless and started learning immediately from my untrained friend . I ’ m kind of nerdy so I immediately bought
