Haflas at Isis Academy of Performing Arts May-September 2020
The Isis Studios with the Isis Academy of Performing Arts has held 5 Haflas after 2 months of lockdowns , following the CDC Guidelines , spacing 6 feet apart , plus an added foot around each 6 foot square laid out in each of 6 rooms . ( We have five rooms at the Haflas to utilize for waiting ( changing ) rooms – which is a Godsend . And we are living with all approved masks , sprays , wipes and hand-sanitizers – whew !
Malachi
Our wonderful dancers and drummers were working on choreographies for planned performances for 3 Festivals , Scarborough Faire , Yaa Halla , Y ’ all , and 3 Haflas taking us until August . We immediately went online with Facebook in March , without missing a class , then added Zoom , then added a small number of people in each class ( and yes , teacher looking in five different directions – monitor for Zoom , laptop for facebook , camera for both , and dancers to the right and left of us ). Included are just a few photos of our performers in action .
