It has also given us time to expand outside of our personal boxes and comfort zones . It ’ s time to get our creative juices flowing . We always have options . A few of them could be to : 1 . Stop and start something new . 2 . Take a break until we can resume teaching and performing like we did before .
3 . Keep the momentum going and ask yourself , “ HOW ” can I ( you fill in the blank )? Mine would be to teach my programs and perform .
When you ask questions , your mind will search for the answer .
For a while in San Diego , our beaches and parks were closed . Finally , in June , they reopened - with social distancing . My friend , Sharon , and I had been talking about co-creating a class together for over a year and we never did . One day we said , “ let ’ s just do it . Let ’ s offer this class at the park .” In our city , we cannot conduct our business at the park and charge , but we can exercise and let participants know we are taking donations . Our intention for this class is to provide a safe space for participants to safely socialize , have fun , exercise , and boost their emotional well-being . We have combined our love for belly dance , yoga , and sound meditation and started offering this class once a week .
Our first class , we had 7 people made up of mostly family and friends . The second week we had 20 people , and the third week we had 27 people - and it ’ s continuing to grow weekly . The following month we decided to open up two classes in the morning and two in the evening . We are now thinking of adding classes to nearby cities .
