If you are a dance instructor , you are in a leadership position . Where are you on a leadership scale ?
Check how many of these practices you engage in regularly . Here are 10 leadership practices , in no particular order because they are all equally important . Ask yourself how many of these leadership practices you engage in ? How many strategies and methods do you use that result in greatness at every level ?

1 . They teach . You can ’ t lead without teaching . And you are not leading if you ’ re not training . If you aren ’ t doing this – find another job : candid commentary but necessary messaging for anyone seeking to achieve a leadership position . Be a willing teacher , and grow the success potential of those you lead . Are you a teacher that teaches dancers the process and practice necessary to become a professional dancer ?
2 . They listen . Leaders must have the pulse of those they lead . And listening is the key strategy to find out what ’ s going on . Have a keen ear on the dialog going on under your leadership . Be inquisitive , be patient . Be a great conversationalist by becoming an exemplary listener . Listen and learn . Consider what you have heard from your dance students . Have you learned valuable insights from them ? Listening and learning is a two-way process .
