I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to my colleague and friend , Ma * Shuqa Mira Murjan , professional performer , teacher / coach , who is a staff writer for the Belly Dance Chronicles , for inviting me to write for the Chronicles , thus opening a new adventure to me on my journey through belly dance !
I ’ m sure we can all agree that life itself is full of “ stepping stones ” that lead us into the realm of unperceived dreams ! To this I can attest when it comes to my journey through belly dance . I could never have imagined reaching this presentday “ magical destiny ” when I took my “ totallyunknowing ” first step ! And so – let the blissful saga begin ! I hope you enjoy it and will find more inspiration to follow your own dreams and bliss !
“ How I Found Belly Dancing ” - Or is it “ How Belly Dancing Found Me ”?
When I was in my early 20s , I worked with a Greek girl as executive secretaries . Her name is Emily Manning , with whom I remain in contact . We both lived in Lowell , MA . When we first met , she was married , had a young son , and was expecting her second child . She and I developed a good friendship .
