THE RED FRED

PROJECT

The Red Fred Project finds children living in extraordinary circumstances and asks them the question: If you could write a book for the entire world to read, what would it be about? The books use photography, graphic design, story-telling techniques and star a likable group of birds made from commas and exclamation marks called The Jolly Troop.

These creative kids have faced significant challenges in short lifetimes—with humor, compassion and wisdom-filled stories to share. We want to know how they view the world and help them create an original, one-of-a-kind book, publish it, place it in their hands and say, "Way to go! You've published a story; you've created a book!"

Why are we doing this?

WE WOULDN'T BE US WITHOUT YOU.

On Friday, 13 September 2013, a parking lot in Salt Lake City, Utah, filled

up with kids and adults anxious to support a silver-starred collaboration.

That night, we launched our Kickstarter campaign online, we celebrated

Red Fred's birthday; but most importantly, we witnessed a book signing of a

seven year old boy that taught us what it meant to "climb with tigers." One

month later, on 13 October 2013, our project exceeded our funding goals and

the Red Fred Project came to life! The image above holds all of you that supported us—up until the very end of the Kickstarter campaign. We couldn't be US without YOU, truly. Thanks to each of you listed and many more not listed, but who were just as instrumental in helping get where we needed to be. You have given us wings and we are going to go to every state and make stories with children that have very important lessons to share with the world. We thank you—as far as our wings can reach.
