If Jessica Mass has her way, every child rescued from human trafficking will have a safe environment to grow up in far away from predators.
The 34-year-old has dedicated herself to provide aftercare services to children rescued from enslavement into forced labor and sexual exploitation as the Director of Aftercare for Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), a nonprofit charity. For the last two years, Jessica has tirelessly worked in 16 different countries to find safe homes and aftercare for children saved in harmful trafficking situations.
It hasn’t been easy. She has had to coordinate and organize aftercare with 70 different centers and orphanages around the world to ensure the children rescued receive the best
resources, including medical and emotional treatment. She is the first person to make it clear that combating human trafficking crosses all race, religion, social economical background, urban and rural communities worldwide.
“Human trafficking is real. It effects millions of people’s lives. There are lives destroyed and lives that have to be restored because other’s put a price tag on a human life,” Jessica said. “I strongly believe that there is always hope and healing for everyone that has had to suffer from this horror.”
She continued, “However, no person should ever have to go through human trafficking. We can stand side-by-side in assisting others to live in freedom. We must stand side-by-side as we say ‘not on my watch will I know about another's suffering and do nothing!’”
