Now, fold your rectangular pieces in half, hamburger style and pin into place. Sew along this edge to create a tube. Believe it or not, you are almost done...

Tip: If your fabric has any stretch to it, use a “zig zag stitch” setting on your sewing machine instead of a standard stitch so your fabric can still stretch when it’s completed.

Now, measure your waist and cut the elastic that length. Sew it together to create a circle.

SEW

Sandwich the elastic in between the exterior fabric and your lining as pictured and pin into place. If this is too complicated, pin your fabric to one side of the elastic. By placing the fabric on either side of the elastic, it creates a more professional finished look, but is not required. Stretch the elastic while pinning to be sure the fabric is evenly spaced.
