Conservative Financial Solutions Helps Food Pantry
Roger Ford , Wealth Advisor and CEO , along with Spencer Ford and Austin Ford , Wealth Advisors of Conservative Financial Solutions , LLC ( CFS ), hosted their Eighth Annual Client Appreciation Event .
Over twelve hundred individuals came out to Stricker ’ s Grove Amusement Park . This annual event is a way CFS gives back to the community while thanking their clients for their commitment . It is an evening that creates lasting memories for CFS clients with their children and grandchildren .
Again this year , CFS partnered with Christ ’ s Loving Hands , a local charity which partners with churches , businesses , and community agencies to make a difference in the Harrison community . By working with partner churches and their food pantries , Christ ’ s Loving Hands is able to provide food , clothing , rent , utilities , gift cards , and some medications to families

CFS clients and their families were asked to consider those in need by filling Roger ’ s truck with non-perishable food and supplies and / or purchasing tickets to win a prize basket for this worthy organization , Christ ’ s Loving Hands . This year , local business partners contributed to the baskets , helping to raise more than $ 1,550 from the basket raffle alone .
Within an hour of opening the park , two truck beds were overflowing with non-perishable items . Marsha Hoffman , Director , and MJ Neeley , Clearinghouse Coordinator , of the Harrison Christ ’ s Loving Hands organization were overjoyed by the generosity of those in attendance . Between the donations received from the CFS clients and guests in combination with the company match , Christ ’ s Loving Hands was presented with a

Bright Area Business Association Holds Annual Golf Outing
The Bright Area Business Association ( BABA ) hosted the Eighth Annual Bright Area Golf Tournament recently . All proceeds went to local organizations to support and promote the Bright Area . In the past seven years , BABA has donated over $ 50,000 to local organizations as a result of the Golf Tournament and their Bright Festival Booth . Past recipients have been the Bright Fire & EMS and North Dearborn Pantry .
This year ' s net proceeds were made possible because of the generosity of almost one hundred golfers , sponsors CalcommIndiana , Dearborn County Hospital Rehabilitation Center , MainSource Bank , UCB , along with approximately fifty business sponsors and numerous volunteers . check for $ 4,500 .
“ This event restocks our pantry every summer . It is such a blessing to work with the great team at CFS every year . Between the donations and money raised , we are able to help over one hundred families for the remainder of the year ,” said Marsha . “ When I was greeting guests at the trucks for donations , I couldn ’ t hold my tears back , the generosity of the clients and knowing how many families will benefit , it is just fantastic ,” said MJ Neeley . “ We really appreciate all of the work and support from the staff , especially from Roger and Carolyn Ford . The Fords have truly given Christ ’ s Loving Hands their personal support and have created such a unique concept in raising funds for our organization . This event is one of Christ ’ s Loving Hands largest business partner fund raisers . We are forever grateful to be able to partner with CFS and their clients annually !” said Marsha Hoffman .
The clients and their families enjoyed a delicious food buffet , rode thrilling rides , played games , and participated in miniature golf . Com plimentary family photos were taken at the photo booth by Jason Hollowell from Sound Station Music located in downtown Harrison . Unlimited concessions of popcorn , cotton candy , and ice cream made everyone ’ s tummy smile .
LifeTime Resources Receives Grant
Thanks to a monetary donation from the Dearborn County Hospital and the support of Circuit Court Judge James Humphrey , LifeTime Resources was recently awarded a grant to better assist seniors and incapacitated adults in Dearborn County .
Monies derived from the $ 50,000 Volunteer Advocates for Seniors or Incapacitated Adults ( VASIA ) grant , awarded by the Indiana Supreme Court , will be combined with Dearborn County Hospital ’ s donation of $ 12,500 and additional funding to help maintain and operate a volunteer guardianship program .
As a requirement to receive a VASIA grant , applicant programs must have a commitment from one or more entities in their service area to provide matching funds .
Designed to address temporary and / or emergency guardianship needs , the program , administered by LifeTime Resources , will serve as a guardian / representative payee for seniors or incapacitated adults whose family and / or friends are either unable or unwilling to assume the responsibility . The intent of the program is to assure that the rights and interests of all seniors and incapacitated adults are protected under the full extent of the law .
The VASIA grant will also allow for the program to expand its scope of services for seniors and incapacitated adults through the use of volunteers . The program will utilize volunteers to provide various forms of assistance such as calling and / or visiting the individual ; escorting them to health care appointments ; helping them apply for benefits ; and other appropriate activities or duties .
Harrison Home Bakery Celebrates Milestone
In the days of commercialized superstores that include baked goods , finding a true bakery can be challenging . The town of Harrison has been home to a true bakery with German heritage for over forty-five years . Harrison Home Bakery is a family -owned business started by Dieter Noller .
