May STEMstars!
“We at Genesis are in-
spired by teachers like Krista
and Amanda,” said Cheryll
Obendorf, Genesis Director.
“Children have a natural curi-
osity about the world around
them – experimenting, build-
ing, absorbing it all. Enthu-
siastic teachers help them to
spark the desire to learn more.
They are at the beginning of
their educational journey, and
we celebrate the teachers who
inspire their success.”
The summer has been full
of live entertainment with
three evenings of the Music
and Arts Festival in Liberty
Park, and the much anticipat-
ed Star-Spangled Symphony
featuring the Indianapolis
Symphony Orchestra at The
Plex. The community is
most appreciative of all who
helped bring these cultural
events to rural Indiana!
That’s Sue’s news for now!

trip on their bucket list. I just
checked another trip/vacation
off of my list this month—a
drive of the Outer Banks of
North Carolina. My journey
began inland at Monticello,
the home of Thomas Jef-
ferson, followed by a visit to
Colonial Williamsburg, and
topped by the Outer Banks. I
was amazed by the wild hors-
es of Corolla, loved the do-
nuts in Duck, and was wowed
by the beaches and dunes
of Nags Head. A visit to the
Wright brother’s monument
to flight, the Cape Hatteras
lighthouse, the free ferry to
Ocracoke Island, and a second
two- hour ferry (reservations
required) to Cedar Island from
Ocracoke completed my mis-
sion. My advice for t
