US 50 Repair and Resurfacing

The resurfacing of US 50 from the interchange of I-275 to Aurora is scheduled to begin in 2019 . The combined contract for the drainage issue at the bottom of Trester Hill , the slip between Billingsley Drive and Wilson Creek
Road , and the repaving of this area of US 50 have been tied together under one contract . In the event that the US 50 slip at Billingsley Drive is completed earlier than October , the contractor may choose to begin paving sections of US 50 this year rather than addressing the entire project in 2019 .
S-D Book Fees Drop for 2018-2019
The Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corporation is pleased to announce that book bills for the 2018-2019 school year for all students in grades K-12 will be $ 35 . This represents a minimum of $ 65 to over a $ 200 reduction for each student , depending on the grade he or she is in . The reduction is made possible through the generous support of the Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools Endowment fund .
Andrew Jackson , Superintendent said , “ With the various costs for families around the beginning of the school year , the Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools Endowment is excited to provide some financial relief to parents when school starts next year .”
In addition , online payment will be part of the online registration process for next year .
Parents of students in grades 6-12 will still be able to purchase the optional Chromebook Protection Plan for $ 25 .

EC Students Proved that They Are All Wet
It ’ s that time of year for the ECST- championship month !! The 2018 Indiana Swimming South East Divisional Championship was held at Columbus North High School .
Swimmers entered an unlimited number of events for which they have qualified . They had to scratch down to six events for the entire meet plus relays . Each student was limited to only three individual events per day , including the time trials . All entry times had to fall within the qualifying Indiana time standards for that
event . Swimmers had to enter with their fastest time achieved during the qualifying period .
EC swim team members ’ ages range from 6-18 years old . These swimmers have been swimming since September 2017 . They practice four to five days a week for one and a half to two hours per day .
Of the 108 team members , twenty-nine have qualified for divisionals . For some of them , this is their first time to make divisionals , which is such a great accomplishment .

Young Knights- Nothing But Net
The third-grade Knights basketball team continues to do quite well in several area tournaments recently . They traveled to Madison to compete in the Madison Elite third-grade and fourth-grade tournaments . The team won the Madison Elite third-grade tournament and then returned on Sunday to compete in the fourth-grade tournament .
