Bonomini
capped off his
Correspondent
career with the Grizzlies as
a four-year letter winner.

During his senior year, he
led the team with 11 touch-
down catches. He took over
the primary receiving role on
the team after the graduation
of several others last season.
Due to Bonomini’s quickness
and route-running, he quickly
became the favorite target of
quarterback Braden Smith.
He caught a total of 71 passes
throughout the season to
amass 1224 receiving yards.
These totals ranked him sec-
ond in regular season statistics
in all of NCAA Division III
football. For his offensive
career with the Grizzlies,

Bonomini had 2020 yards of
receiving and scored 15 total
touchdowns.
Bonomini, a 2015 East
Central graduate, helped
lead the Grizzlies to an 8-2
record this year and a share
of the HCAC title. He also
assumed the punting duties
for the Grizzlies during his
senior year. He punted 19
times with a 34.9 yard aver-
age in his first year in that
role. Bonomini also assumed
punt and kick return duties
for much of his career as a
Grizzly.
South Dearborn
Wrestling Begins
Season 3-2 at Elwood
The South Dearborn Wres-
tling team competed in the
Rex Leavitt Invitational at
Elwood on November 17 to
begin the 2018-2019 season.
The Knights were defend-
ing champions of the meet
but were unable to repeat as
champions as it became too
much to overcome some inju-
ries which occurred during the
day as well as forfeiting one
weight class.
The young Knights squad
(sporting 9 of 14 weight
classes filled with sophomores
and freshmen) started off a bit
slow against Alexandria, but
they quickly righted the ship
to amass a 48-33 dual meet
victory.
Coach George Gardner’s
Knights came back in the next
two rounds to defeat Tri 72-
12 and Frankton 51-18. The
Knights were doing well but
had already sustained a couple

of injuries in the lineup during
the day.
The fourth dual pitted the
Knights against the Delta
Eagles. This meet was de-
cided by the difference of
any one match having gone
differently. The Knights fell
to Delta 41-36 but sustained
yet another injury to the
lineup.
To finish the day, South
Dearborn would face Green-
field-Central. Due to the
injuries, the Knights made
a few lineup changes and
opted for several competi-
tive matchups in the final
dual. The Cougars would
win the dual by the score of
48-31.
The Knights had two
weight class champions
on the day in 145-pound
sophomore Bryer Hall and
285-pound senior Adam
Bushorn. Hall moved up a
weight class against Green-
field-Central and won an ex-
citing match against Cooper
Noehre by a score of 11-5.
This was a matchup of two
state-ranked wrestlers.
Other wrestlers going 4-1
on the day were Isaiah Otto,
Eli Otto, Austin Boggs, and
Zach Dick while Zach Otto
was 3-1 losing his only match
on an injury default. Going
3-2 on the day for the Knights
were Cade McClanahan and
Grant McLane.
Sam Smith, Kenny Carpenter, and Dylon Neff celebrate
with the Victory Bell as part of the Hanover College
football program. The Panthers defeated the Franklin
College Grizzlies in the rivalry game 23-20 on Nov. 10 to
reclaim the bell after a long stay in Franklin.
Dylon Neff earned the distinction of being named to
the HCAC second team as an offensive lineman for the
Panthers. The three members pictured here were also
teammates while at South Dearborn High School.
