The community extends
its gratitude to Eagle Scout
candidate Gus Kellerman,
son of John and Natasha, and
his team for their impres-
sive work on the ‘Welcome
to Batesville’ sign that was
erected along I-74 years ago
by the Chamber of Com-
merce. The sign was in need
of considerable restoration
and brush removal, and Gus
and his team completed the
challenge.
St. Louis School welcomes
four new educators: Saman-
tha Giesting, grades 6, 7 and
8 Literature, and pre-school
educators, Amy Watson,
Sydney Prickel, and Nicole
Klump. All the best to the
faculty and students in their
academic year!
Congratulations to Jack
Brunsman, son of Ben and
Stevie Brunsman of Sunman,
who placed first in the Indiana
Young Farmers Association
Pedal Pull at the State Fair.
Jack did a “full pull” at 300
lbs. His second at 350 lbs,
resulted in another “full pull.”
The competition came down
to Jack and one other pedal-
puller. Jack’s third attempt
resulted in him pulling a
450-pound sled thirty-one feet
and his opponent having a
“full pull,” so Jack placed sec-
ond in this competition. The
St. Louis kindergarten student
also placed first at the Pioneer
Engineers’ Club competition.
He is qualified to pull at the
2019 National Kiddie Tractor
Pullers Grand National Cham-
pionship in Greenville, OH.
