Alumni Adventures with Sarah Parrack by Sara and Family

Senior 2017 and proud alumnus of LLH! Sarah will attend college this fall with a focus of history to teach students with special needs. She has been accepted at the University of Kansas and continues to advocate for college programs in Oklahoma.
Sarah’ s love of learning began with the dedicated teachers of LLH. Her outgoing personality and sincere empathy for others, along with her love for the Lord, is who she is. A favorite experience was a mission trip to Mexico to share about Jesus. Other activities she has participated in include Adam’ s Camp, Camp Barnabas, and Hope’ s Crossing, as camper and staff. Sarah was a delegate, then staff, at Youth Leadership Forum to hone self-advocacy skills. She has spent many hours volunteering including favorites: John 3:16 Mission and presenting plaques at Laps for Little Ones for the Little Light House.
Sarah’ s activities include: Student Council Representative for three years, Representative of the Month and Outstanding Service / Leadership Award; MESH Connect- bringing together students and faculty from regular and special education; Advanced Theatre:“ Newcomer of the Year”, performing in two high school musicals and Dinner Theatres; Red Cross; FUSE-Bible study; Special Olympics: swimming, track and fundraising; and jazz dance recital at the Tulsa PAC.
Sarah was selected as January, 2017 Senior of the Month by the UHS faculty. She was also selected as Top Ten Woman for Ms. Union, both Junior and Senior years. Sarah is enrolled in all regular education classes and serves as an aide in the school nurse’ s office.
Sarah loves her family and friends and enjoys time with her grandmas, vacations( swimming with a dolphins), and being with friends at movies, parties, and prom. She has made life-long friends through her involvement in so many activities, summer camps, and volunteering. Her advice to others:“ Do your school work, don’ t spend too much time on your phone, get involved, be a leader, and learn as much as you can learn.”
