HEROES
MR. AL RILEY
Mr. Al Riley, owner of Patio Magic, attended the Garden Party for the
first time last year in 2018. During the children’s choir performance, he
noticed the mismatched and older looking chairs in which the kids were
sitting. He felt these could use an “update” and thought to himself “I
can do that!” He contacted LLH to explore this and of course we were
delighted to work with him. Within a few months, he had manufactured
and gifted 50 “rainbow” chairs to LLH. These have become a mainstay
of seating for our children in our all school assemblies, special functions,
praise and worship and many more activities. The kids LOVE the chairs,
the staff LOVES the chairs and they bring a happy, colorful and cheery
component to group activities.
As Mr. Al became more exposed to the classrooms at LLH, he noticed and
had questions about a peculiar chair set up. A child’s chair was inside
a large trash can with the front wall removed. The therapists explained
how this better defines the child’s personal space and diminishes
distractions in the peripheral vision. Once again he felt an upgrade
was in order. Soon we had 5 new “Kozy Kubbey” chairs, a three-sided,
surround cubicle of the same quality of outdoor furniture as the rainbow
chairs. The kids immediately took to the Kozy Kubbeys and race to get
to them first. Kozy Kubbey is particularly helpful with our children with
autism and sensory processing disorders.
Thank you Mr. Al for all the new chairs and making our kids’ lives more
comfortable, colorful and fun!!
The Tuesday Morning Miracle Workers are a group of
incredibly talented volunteers associated with Habitat
for Humanity. This group builds and installs the high
professional grade, interior cabinetry in Habitat Homes.
Through Mr. Al Riley, they approached the Little Light House
to see if there was a need for any furniture to be built. They
immediately received a request for two structures for the
gym. Specialized for LLH students, they built a child sized
set of stairs with a single railing to allow the PTs to access the
children easily when working with them on stair skills. They
also built a low angle ramp with a top platform large enough
for a child in a power wheelchair to easily go up, turn around
and come back down independently. They didn’t stop there.
More miracles were delivered in the form of classroom tables,
toy shelves, and book shelves for the new family learning
center. A gift that saved LLH nearly $6,000. At just the perfect
time, these dedicated men appeared at the Little Light House
with skills and talents to meet some very specific needs. We
are delighted to call them part of the Little Light House family
and look forward to working with them more in the future.

2019 PATH LIGHTERS
On February 26 we inducted 11 new members to our Path Lighter’s
Society, a group of extremely generous individuals who are lighting
the way for little ones for generations to come. Each member of the
Path Lighter’s Society has left gifts to the Little Light House in their
estate, retirement plans, life insurance policies, or other planned
gifts. Since the society was started in 2013, we have inducted 71
members to this group. The Little Light House would like to express
our most sincere gratitude to all of our Path Lighters.
