In late December , Atlanta Ventures — the Buckheadbased company behind Atlanta Tech Village , one of America ’ s largest startup hubs — has stepped in to take the lead on developing a property that was previously owned by a German firm .
The 15-acre development includes 50 + buildings in its portfolio , encompassing a ten-block area near the Gold Dome , where Broad and Mitchell streets meet . Here Atlanta ’ s largest collection of historic commercial buildings is being reimagined and rebuilt to become a safe , walkable , livable , inclusive neighborhood . Repurposing 6-acres of vacant and neglected parking lots is a huge priority in this revitalization . MIDTOWN FIRE STATION 15
The City of Atlanta and Atlanta Urban Development Corporation ( AUD ) have kicked off their first project , the redevelopment of Atlanta ’ s Fire Station 15 located at 170 10th Street . The project , whose RFQ ’ s are due March 12 , will be a mixed-use high rise that features both affordable living options and a modernized new firehouse at its base .
Midtown is experiencing unprecedented development with accompanying strong rent growth . In 2023 PSF rent was $ 2.52 compared to Eastside $ 2.32 , Buckhead $ 2.28 and West Midtown $ 2.06 . This project could be the start of remaking underutilized public land across the city .
