Trip to Rust De Winter
Early morning on Saturday 03 Aug we hit Rust de Winter, after launching we warmed up and went straight to the flats to see if there was a big fish to find after about 30 minutes we caught 2 moderate size bass +-2kg. After about 2 hours of regular size bass we decided to head to upper part of the flats. We instantly in about 5 minute’s time caught two bass about 3kg. At this time it was about 10:00 and we decided it was best to try and hit “croc bay” for a few hours and enjoy the scenery while we were there. The fish in that specific

area were small so we moved to the small “sloepie” for some excitement. As usual it did not disappoint with numerous hits and strikes. In this area the fish are not that big but is quite fun to catch when the dam is quieting down. After about 3 hours at the sloepie we head out to a large sloep very close to the dam wall. Quietly sitting and waiting for a bite we got a hit on the one Rod, it was a 3.67kg bass and well our day was made in that moment. We decided to head out to a little spot not far from there we like to call “Bass Crazy”. This spot has medium grass and pretty visible water, it will also never disappoint with the amount of strikes you’ll find especially in the afternoon. At about four o clock we decided to call it a day and head on home. Total

It also consists of a cement launching pad and ablution blocks are available. With about an hour’s drive from PTA it is well worth the trip and with nice
