A friend asked me the other day what summer really means to me...
When I was young it was fun under the sprinklers at home on a hot day, my sister
daring me to run bare foot across the couch grass, covered with bees and laying chest
first on the hot cement by the side of the Nuriootpa Swimming Pool with friends.
As I grew older, it became long nights out with friends, Christmas home with
the whole family, attending friend's weddings and time off to relax.

And nowadays it’s sunscreen for the kids, a perfectly mowed lawn on a Saturday
and family time outdoors.
It’s marvelling at the new offers popping up every day in the Barossa; Wine bars,
Restaurants, gin bars, distilleries and bespoke cellar doors.

Every one of these memories is my experience of the Barossa; just another part
of a story, my story… And we all have one.
As part of this Summer edition, we share Sam Neumann’s story.

A young, vibrant and driven woman, who, through her travels, has brought much
needed experience and knowledge to both the local community and wider Australian
Livestock market.
We sit down with Owen Andrews and find out how this award winning chef’s
determination and relentless drive to succeed has allowed him to be living his dream.
Meet Courtney Nourse, a 26-year-old from Nuriootpa who is making her mark
in politics as Ministerial Advisor to one of the State’s most influential power brokers,
Mr Stephan Knoll.
Are you a fan of figs, wine or walnuts? Well we have the cellar door for you…
Meet Michael and Susan Papps. A local family focused couple breaking the mold
on what’s considered the traditional Barossa wine experience.
And Guy Ewing. As a local familiar face to many from his time as a Pharmacist, this
community advocate has many stories to tell, all the while painting a picture of his
passion and pride for the Barossa.
