Q & A The expression of identity Art students develop their talents into award winners Rui Chen 10 Q What does art mean to you? A Random doodles and drawings; its called killing time. Many students look for a way to express themselves, and each of them have their own outlet. For some that may be fashion, music, dance, cheer, sports, etc. But for these students they use art to define who they are as individuals. They create a piece that represents a feeling, emotion, or a message they are trying to convey. For some it s a hobby they enjoy pursuing in their free time, and for others it s a lifestyle. When they want to portray themselves in some other way than just speaking of who they are, they draw or paint something that represents them. Whether it s funny, meaningful, open-minded, complicated or simple, these kids take their immense talent and use it to make something that everyone can share in and enjoy. 1.
