Getting Back Up
The start of this years
season came with a couple of
rough patches. In Texas,
Marching Band starts in the
middle of hurricane season.
Usually our band isn t
affected like schools further
south. However, this year
was a different story.
Hurricane Harvey blew in the
second week of practices
and literally rained on our
parade. This set us back a
couple of weeks but even
through the delay we worked
hard to make our marching
show great. Through the
storm, the heat, and the ups
and downs our band grew to
respect and le arn from each
other. We each have taken
away lessons from this
Q &
season that we will carry
forever. When we think
back about our time in band
we will always remember
taking the first step onto the
field, the way the sun felt on
our skin after the longest
practice of the year, and the
pride we felt when we
found out we made straight
ones at Concert and Sight
Reading. Even though this
was not a record breaking
season for our band it left
us with memories and a
sense of pride that will
highlight our time here.
