The Makwa Cup was donated by Ragna Mormor Gumoes, Linda Gumoes' mother. It had been the original House Cup at Thika European Primary School, presented to one of the two Houses known as Livingston (Blue) and McKinnon (Red). McKinnon was Ms Gumoes House. When the school folded the cup was returned and the Gumoes family felt it would be fitting to donate it to The Banda School.
