Regulars at our Westlake Village

location, Rich and Arlene met in 1999.

Their first date was at a bar, where

Rich was left waiting for Arlene, trying

repeatedly to get ahold of her. When

Arlene finally realized her phone was off

the receiver (no iPhones back then), she

picked it up and found, to her dismay,

that Rich was sitting in the bar for far too

long, waiting patiently for her to arrive.

So she raced down to the bar, and the

rest is history.

Rich and Arlene started coming to

Brent’s Deli a few years ago. They were

looking for some authentic East Coast

food, and were thrilled when they finally found some.

When they aren’t here, Rich and

Arlene are at the Crown and Anchor, a

local pub in Thousand Oaks.

Born in New Jersey, Rich is a former

pilot in the Navy and served as the

Director of Research and Development

Computing for Amgen. Today, he enjoys

flying and racing airplanes. Arlene is a

native of Scotland and ended up in

Southern California by way of Arkansas,

where she was a nurse for a children's

hospital; today she works for Children’s

Hospital of Los Angeles as a nurse in the Intensive Care Cardiovascular Unit.

Their love for laughter and terribly

redundant bar humor is contagious, as is

their love of everyone they come across.
