Raven: Yes, they keep me interested when maybe I was finding it a bit slow and tell me about all kinds of things I'd never have thought about otherwise. I really enjoy listening to a range of shows covering different aspects of the game.
4) What would you say is one of trhe hardest things about podcasting?
Sil: Being in the right mood for it and having the time. I find it difficult to be all cheery and entertaining when I’m not very happy or sick. I try to, but luckily I have some great co-hosts (EJ and Raven) who will take over most of the talking and leading the podcast if I am not feeling up to it.
EJ: Sometimes it can be hard to schedule guests in that we really want, or to get feedback or comments from listeners. Maybe they just all agree with us! /joke
Raven: Summoning up the energy after a full on week can be pretty challenging, especially if there's no real news going on in WoW but I don't think we ever regret it once we've motivated ourselves to get started on an episode.
5)What is the most rewarding thing about podcasting?
Sil: The community/listeners. It warms my heart when people leave an e-mail saying that they love what we’re doing or that they actually listen to us chatter. Lol I still find it hard to believe that people actually listen to us at all. I’ve never been among a more generous and caring community in my life! I’ve made some amazing friends through this podcast.
EJ: I feel very privileged to get the opportunity to speak and connect with some many lovely people.
Raven: Making new friends! I'd love to go to Blizzcon one day and meet people but I can't see that happening as AmericaLand is a long way from here. I am trying to arrange a WoW meetup in London though, probably on Easter Saturday.
Podcast questions
1) How did you first get into pod casting?
Sil: I listened to a lot of podcasts and realised I wanted to do something like that. I guess I have a lot of things I like to talk about and figured ‘why not?’.
EJ: Sil invited me on as a guest for one of the early Girls Gone Wow shows and once one of her co-hosts left, she asked me to step in.
Raven: Um, EJ made me do it!
2) What makes you want to podcast?
Sil: Having great co-hosts helps a lot. I think it makes it more fun to do so and also the listeners have been amazing. It’s really great hearing feedback from them and getting their e-mails.
EJ: I really enjoy how involved it has made me feel with the WoW community - I love being able to talk to people all around the world and we have this common bond. Also it means I regularly get sent pictures of Otters :)
Raven: We have a really good time recording, I think we gel really well and just have a laugh. Interacting with listeners on Twitters keeps it fun as well - and other podcasters. It's a pretty awesome group of people to be part of.
3) Fnd that podcasting and listening to other podcast’s increase the enjoyment of the game?
Sil: Definitely! I have times that I’m not really into the game anymore, but as soon as I listen to a podcast about wow it makes me want to play again!
EJ: I really do think it has added a whole new perspective on the game and how I play it - often I will go and try things or look for things after hearing about other people's experiences from podcasts.
