Interview With....

I have managed to interview the great girls from Girls Gone WoW, a European WoW Podcast. It was one of the first shows I listened to and continue to enjoy it!

1) How did you first get into World Of Warcraft?

Sil: My at the time boyfriend told me about this new mmo that would be released. I’d never heard of ‘mmo’s’ so he explained and I was intrigued.

EJ: A friend of mine (Simon F) managed to get hold of WoW when it was first released in the UK and he was playing it on his laptop when I was visiting him and his housemate Karen. Karen and I slowly went from occasionally glancing over to sitting behind him asking him loads of questions. I think the first time I seriously started to think about checking it out was when he took a flight over Ashenvale and I was so taken with how the game looked. Then when they finally got WoW back in stock, he bought me a copy of the game and you know what they say - the first hit is free :)

Raven: It's all EJ's fault! Well, sort of. I broke up with a boyfriend on 1 January 2009 (Well, he broke up with me. On New Year's day!!) and decided I needed a bit of a distraction. EJ had been going on about WoW for ages and I thought it might be my sort of thing...a bit too much my sort of thing which is why I was avoiding it but I gave in and got hooked

2) Are you Horde or Alliance?

Sil: I’ve been Alliance for years, and then I got bored of playing Alliance for so many years that for a while I switched to Horde. Nowadays, I think I’m truly bifactional and try to play on both sides so I can see all storylines in the game.

EJ: Mainly Alliance. I started as a NE as both Karen and Simon were playing nelfs. Over the years I have had various horde characters and have a particular love for tauren but atm I only have a BE priest.

I do like being able to see the storyline from both sides. I also loved Cairne and I do respect Volj'in.

Raven: Alliance Prevails!

3) Is your main your fiirst character?

Sil: Yes and no I guess, I made a night elf druid but before there was the option to pay for a server transfer I had to start over again when my ex and me decided to jump servers. I made another night elf druid and have been my main for ages. Today I haven’t really got a main. I’m still trying to decide before Warlords of Dreanor comes out what I should choose as a main, or even which faction I will be playing to start with.

EJ: I started as a NE warrior and she was my main until mid-way through TBC. I was the first warrior in my guild to hit 60 and so they told me I was going to respec tank - I was clueless and had no idea about roles but I took to it really well and MT'd for our raiding guild alliance through MC and some of BWL. Once TBC dropped, the guild asked me to stay prot spec and said they would level me up in groups because at that time a Prot Warrior did DPY - damage per year! However, they abandoned me halfway through lvl69 and by the time I'd hit 70, I was so frustrated and upset that I almost deleted her there and then.

In vanilla, I had rolled a mage as an alt, primarily so when not tanking, I could go and actually kill things in less than an hour! I actually did a lot of PVP on her. So when I became so frustrated on my tank, I decided to give PVE maging a go and have never looked back. Add to that, she is a Gnome and what could be more splendid!

Raven: Yes! She's a Night Elf Druid and I keep playing her 'cos droods are the best class. I like that I can fill any role on this char really.
